Meditating for beginners in 10 practical steps

  1. Practice daily.

  2. Make a commitment to set a certain time aside every single day for meditation and stick to it.

  3. Start Small. Make your daily meditation 3-5 minutes.

  4. Focus on the breath. Use the breath as an anchor point during meditation. When your mind wonders, always come back to the breath.

  5. Expect to think. Know your mind will have a lot of thoughts popping in and out.

  6. Take 3 deep breaths. Hold for a couple seconds. Long Exhale.

  7. Get comfortable . Let your body determine how you sit.

  8. Pick your space. Try and Meditate in the same place.

  9. Use Texture. Using a rug or blanket will help signal to your brain that it is time to meditate.

  10. Use Scent. Indulge in incense during your Meditation.
